Fruity Iced Tea Recipe

ice tea made with ceylon tea, garnished with mint leaves, fruits

Iced tea is a smooth, cool, and thirst-quenching beverage that is perfect for beating the summer heat. The Cold brew tends to extract a different, often more pleasant flavour profile from the tea compared to using hot water. Iced tea also has the added benefit of being party-friendly. It gives you the chance to experience a familiar tea taste in a new way. Here’s how to prepare a classic fruity iced tea using Ceylon black tea, a tea that goes well with all your summer activities.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup of any diced fruit
  • Sugar to taste
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Water
  • Sprig of mint

Instructions:

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Steep the 3-4 tea bags in the boiling water for 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and lemon to the tea mixture to taste.
  4. Pour the tea into a pitcher.
  5. Refrigerate the tea for 2-3 hours to chill.
  6. Once chilled, stir in the 1/2 cup of sugar syrup.
  7. In a separate bowl, dice 1 cup total of peaches, strawberries, raspberries, and apples. Sprinkle the diced fruit with a bit of lemon juice.
  8. Add the lemon-sprinkled fruit to the chilled tea in the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
  9. Serve the fruit-infused iced tea over ice, garnished with a sprig of mint.
